Musk responded to a Twitter question asking if he would think about building a social media platform that used an open-source algorithm, prioritized free speech, and contained minimal propaganda.
Elon Musk, a frequent user of Twitter, has been critical of the platform’s policies in recent times. Musk has accused the company of undermining democracy by failing to uphold free speech principles.
He tweeted his tweet a day following a Twitter poll in which users were asked if Twitter respects the principle of free speech. Over 70% voted “no”.

Suppose Musk decides to create a new platform. In that case, he will join a growing number of tech companies promoting free speech and aiming to attract users who feel their views are being suppressed on platforms like Twitter, Meta Platform’s Facebook, and Alphabet’s Google’s YouTube.
