K-pop singer IU – Sneap-A-peek into her life: IU singer  Lee Ji-eun (Korean: 이지은; born May 16, 1993) is a South Korean actress and singer. Her name is a fancy combination that attracts the most and is beautifully designed giving a depth where ‘I’ and ‘you.’ IU means ‘you and I become one through music.’ Lee was not a singer in a first stance, actually she signed with Kakao M in 2007 as a trainee.

Career:

IU began her career as a singer at a very young age but didn’t fully realize how much she loved it until she performed at a sports competition as a student. The success of this performance spurred her to make singing her full-time career. During her college years, IU became more confident and pursued her dream as a professional performer leading to a successful debut album and subsequent tours.

In 2016, IU canceled a romance with her high school alma, citing personal problems. She then broke up with her ex-boyfriend, Chang Kiha, in 2017, and they had a wide age difference.

IU’s career has been very successful in Korea, and she has released five studio albums and nine extended plays. Among her notable achievements is the number of singles she has achieved on the Gaon Music Charts.

During her stay in the country, IU has branched out into several other endeavors.

In March 2011, she was appointed host of the music program Inkigayo. She held the position until July 2013, and she has appeared on several television shows in the last three years.
