House of Cards is a drama set in modern-day Washington, D.C., about Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey), a Democrat from South Carolina’s 5th congressional district and the House Majority Whip who, after being passed over for Secretary of State, vows to wreak vengeance on those who betrayed him. In addition to Robin Wright, Kate Mara, and Corey Stoll, the series stars Robin Wright, Kate Mara, and Corey Stoll.

On July 18, 2013, Netflix received the first Primetime Emmy Award nominations for original online-only web television for the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards.
