2022 Emmy Nominations in Music Complete List

2022 Emmy Nominations in Music Complete List: Zendaya and Labrinth, who won Emmys for their work on HBO’s Euphoria two years ago, have two of this year’s five nominees for outstanding original music and lyrics for their contributions to the show’s songs. They are nominated for co-writing “Eliot’s Song” and “I’m Tired” with Muzhda Zemar-McKenzie and Sam Levinson, respectively.

In the same category two years ago, Labrinth won; Zendaya won for outstanding lead actress in a drama. This year, she is nominated in the same prestigious category.

For the third time in the past four years, Rickey Minor is nominated for two of the five awards for outstanding music direction. He is nominated as the music director for both the 43rd and 44th Annual Kennedy Center Honors, which aired during the same eligibility period owing to pandemic-caused air date changes. (Minor received only one nomination in the category last year, a “down year” for him.)

Adam Blackstone is also nominated for his contributions to The Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show, starring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and 50 Cent (CBS), a celebration of hip-hop music and culture. Blackstone was nominated for this award in 2018 and 2017 as the music director for the Super Bowl halftime shows with Justin Timberlake and Jennifer Lopez/Shakira.

Siddhartha Khosla received three nominations for his work on the rookie comedy series Only Murders in the Building and the sixth and final season of the long-running drama series This Is Us. Khosla has been nominated for excellent music composition for a series (original dramatic score) and outstanding original main title theme music for Only Murders in the Building, in addition to outstanding original music and lyrics for “The Forever Now,” which he co-wrote for This Is Us. Three of Khosla’s previous nominations were for This Is Us. He has not yet won.

Natalie Holt and Theodore Shapiro both have two nominations for their respective contributions to Loki and Severance. Both are nominated for excellent original main title theme music and outstanding original music composition for a series (original dramatic score). Holt and Shapiro have each been nominated once before. Each has not yet won.
